Q: What's the difference between a standard and a heavy-duty fan clutch?
A: Heavy-duty (HD) fan clutches are designed for severe service conditions. They typically:

Q: Should I replace the coolant and water pump at the same time?
A: It is a highly recommended practice. Since the fan clutch and water pump are located in the same area and labor to access them is overlapping, it's cost-effective. A failing water pump can cause coolant leaks that damage the new fan clutch. Replacing both, along with fresh coolant, ensures your entire cooling system is refreshed and reliable.
Q: Do the "friction plates" of a silicone oil fan clutch need running-in after replacement?
A: Yes—avoid long-term high engine load (e.g., high-speed climbing) initially. Let the plates run in slowly with the drive/driven discs. Use the clutch normally after 100-200km to extend plate life.
